Many brokers seeking to connect people with solutions to people with needs take a fee. What we are attempting to do through the finfish project is to build capabilities and teams to create world changing aquaculture production.
So, what are we interested in? Successful aquaculture innovation. We are looking for “innovation components” that can make contributions towards achieving our aim of filling the global fish supply gap. Innovation components are things that can assist to get project work done. Although patents and technologies available for licensing will likely be contributed in the largest numbers, we are also very interested in finding out about important research and consulting capabilities.
To give you some ideas on the innovation components that we are seeking, each capability or technology will be classified against one or more elements of the Aquaculture Innovation Value System. If you click on the image below you will get a larger version.
So, what we are looking for are innovation components that can make a contribution to aquaculture innovation in logistics, marketing, in siting and overcoming environmental issues and in promoting the aesthetic qualities of the product etc etc A more detailed description of the eleven components that make up Aquaculture Innovation Value System is available here.
We are expecting innovation components to be notified by all of the following sources: commercial organisations, public sector research institutions, venture capital managers and individual inventors. While we are expecting a good following from people with a direct connection to the aquaculture and fishing sectors we fully expect that some of the innovation components that prove most valuable will be derived from sectors well outside fishing and aquaculture.
