Western Australia department of fisheries have been able to replace up to 66% of fishmeal diets with a Lupin protein in trout diets. In addition, canola oil has been used to replace up to 100% of added oils in snapper diets.
Considering that WA has a very large Lupin and Canola industry, these innovative advances can assist in working towards a local commercial production of finfish.
