		<description>Steve, I see from the report that it analyses the economics of remote area production  of fish from the farm gate through to processing and also looks at economically practical solutions for processing fish.

In the current economic climate the attraction and maintenance of a skilled processing workforce will be a significant issue. The regional centres create another level of complexity as the cost to attract, train and retain key staff is likely to be a significant impediment.

Given this the Report also looks at options for automated processing technology and finds that at higher volumes the savings can be significant. 

I think that this finding is a critical one that underpins the rationale of the Finfish initiative. ie., that you need to design for large scale first - then the fundamental economics starts to support your efforts.</description>
